Ever since I can remember, way back when I was a little girl, I have dreamed about being a star! But it’s not just about that. It’s the way music touches me and lifts me up to a level that nothing else can. When I perform I want to share that same feeling with the audience, to reach down and pick the crowd up, and really connect with them. When I was 5 years old I sang “I’m Gettin’ Nuttin’ For Christmas” in my elementary schools holiday play, and I was hooked! I wanted more, and I didn’t care how, whether I sang, danced, or played an instrument. I LOVE to entertain. It’s the most intoxicating feeling I have ever experienced.
I grew up listening to country music, but when I was a teen I heard rock n roll for the first time and was never the same again! I bought an electric guitar, learned every rock song I could, and formed and played in several all girl bands. My first one was an all girl heavy metal band called Killer Instinct, and I played rhythm guitar. It didn’t take long before I was progressing as a guitarist and wanted to play lead, so I moved on to my next one, also all girls, called Bootleg. We had a semi-demo deal with RCA Records and recorded my first EP. Both these bands were based in L.A.
Then, In 2003, after moving to Las Vegas, I formed Jaggedy Ann, an explosive all girl rock band, whose album “Boiling Point” was produced by drummer, Phil Rudd, of the legendary AC/DC. Since then, though I have mostly been known as a rock guitarist, people would always say I should be singing too. So now here I am moving on to a different chapter in my life and wanting to put a voice to all the songs I have been writing over the years. This is definitely a new and exciting time for me. I find so much inspiration and things to write about just in my everyday life alone. In fact, it’s the very portal of expressing my most intimate feelings that I could not otherwise. I write about everything that is important, or has affected me in some way or another.
Performing, for me, is like a drug that gets me high, one that you never tried. It’s like flying to outer space and becoming a shooting star, soaring through the sky. It takes me 6 hours to come down after a show.
